We invite you to join us for discussion of the multi-talented actor, Richard Armitage, who is starring as Thorin Oakenshield in Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" trilogy, the first part of which, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" was released in December 2012 with the remaining two parts to be released in December 2013 and December of 2014. He has recently completed filming a tornado thriller "Black Sky" release date yet to be announced. Richard was seen on the big screen in July 2011 playing villain Heinz Kruger in Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger". In 2011, he returned as former SAS soldier John Porter in Sky/HBO/Cinemax's joint production of series two of "Chris Ryan's Strike Back". Richard also completed a three-year turn as MI5 agent Lucas North in the acclaimed espionage drama "Spooks" on the BBC. He is also known for his portrayals of John Thornton in "North & South", Guy of Gisborne in the BBC's "Robin Hood", Harry Kennedy in "The Vicar of Dibley" and many other outstanding performances. Richard is also a well-respected reader of audiobooks, including Bernard Cornwell's "Lords of the North", three titles by Georgette Heyer and multiple Robin Hood audiobooks.
